Founder and CEO
I am the founder and CEO of Angel Eyes NI, a charity committed ensuring all children with a vision impairment in Northern Ireland experience equality in everything they do. As a mum of three, including twins born prematurely with Ocular Cutaneous Albinism, I have personally faced the challenges of raising children with severe sight impairments. This personal journey motivated me to set up Angel Eyes NI, which now supports children with vision impairment and their families, providing essential educational and family support and accessible events. Since we had our first meeting in 2007 we have developed many initiatives to improve outcomes for our children including a Classroom Assistant Training and the Empatheyes Virtual Reality Vision Impairment simulator to help parents and professionals gain a better understanding of the impact of living and learning with a vision impairment.
My personal experiences are what drives me to advocate for policy changes that will ensure equal opportunities for visually impaired children. The board and team work closely together to deliver high-quality services for children, their families and professionals.
Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, Angel Eyes NI continues to grow, raising awareness about paediatric visual impairment to create a more inclusive society where every child can achieve their full potential.
