I joined the Angel Eyes NI team in September 2021, as the eye clinician on the Visual Eyes project. I have been working as an Orthoptist in Northern Ireland since graduating with a first-class honours from the University of Liverpool in 2016. Since graduating, I have enjoyed a very varied career including as an Orthoptist across 2 Trusts, teaching in Ulster University for Optometry students and previously as a dispensing assistant in a local Optician!
As of September 2026, I am working with Queens University Belfast as a Visiting Fellow, after securing an Academy of Medical Science's Cross-Sector Experience award for 12 months.
I love interacting with a wide range of patients and professionals and gaining as much knowledge and experience as I can. I have completed a masters level module in Ophthalmic assessment of children with Special Educational Needs in 2022, a masters module in Adult Education for Healthcare Professionals in 2023, as well as another on Special Educational Needs & Inclusion in 2026. I have been able to apply this knowledge into my clinics, and especially with supporting children with additional and complex needs and training of a range of professionals on vision impairment.
