Habilitation teaches strategies for your visually impaired child for safe and independent travel, finding and communicating and playing with friends. Guest speakers Kerrie & Alex Campbell and Habilitation specialists from Blind Children UK.

Kerrie is an educational psychologist and has been blind since she was a toddler. She was the first blind person to be educated in a main stream school in Scotland. She will speak about how visual impairment affects normal development and her journey through childhood, education and employment. She is married to Alex Campbell who is an Orientation and Mobility Instructor who also delivers echolocation training. Blind Children UK will be speaking about the services available to children and the importance of Habilitation.

The day is suitable for parents of children of all ages.

It starts at 10.30am and ends at 1pm. Lunch included. It takes place in the City East Building on the Newtownards Road Belfast.  Entrance in Ballymacarrett St. City East is near the Titanic Quater rail station.
